This vintage '56 Triumph TRW still packs some unwanted surprises, this time with the pre unit gearbox.
With help from a good friend, and a long night of assembly, this bike is now one step closer to being back on the road. Watch along as this old piece is carefully put back together after a full disassembly and cleaning.

For those who are curious, the red "bonding fluid" used is Loctite 518. I love using this as it is an anaerobic fluid (meaning that it only starts to cure in the absence of oxygen). In open air it remains as a gel, so clean up is very easy. Any 518 that is pushed inside the casings, again, remains a gel, but it is also oil soluble, so it won't ball up and risk plugging any oil passages or gumming up gears like RTV would.
