Just got this Kelly Kettle delivered and I wanted to show you it being unboxed. Then you know what to expect when you order one.
Kelly Kettle is very similar to the Ghillie Kettle in appearance, Kelly Kettle are an Irish company but made in China I believe. Ghillie Kettle are handmade in the UK. Kelly's are available in Stainless or Aluminium where as Ghillie are aluminium or anodised aluminium which they claim to be stronger than stainless steel.
Due to Brexit, I found it cheaper to buy a Kelly Kettle in France than to buy from Ghillie and have it shipped.
Both kettles operate in the same principle to a rocket stove and are very fuel efficient. They are a great idea as you usually can find fuel anywhere and do not have to carry it around, Jetboil I love, but I need to always check how
much gas I have and will need for my trip.
Kelly/Ghillie Kettles are primarily water boiling devices, a secondary free gift is that you can cook some things on them too. It is possible to cook on the top of the kettle or after finished boiling, on top of the hobo stove or grill.
Both are produced in various sizes for different needs.
I bought the Base Camp ultimate kit, which is a 1.6litre kettle and an accessory pack including two cups, plates, frying pan, small pan, pot grab, hobo stove, pot stand and grill.
