This is probably one of THE BEST upgrades I’ve made (aside from the trigger job) to the Shadow 2. In terms of making the grip even more comfortable, this is so worth the effort in doing the mods/fitting required to make it work. I have short wide thumbs (chipmunk thumbs) and the stock slide lock pin’s raised protrusion was forever rubbing me the wrong way.
This is a straight forward fix, you’ll need a cut off/grinding disc like I’m using on my Foredom (a Dremel will also work). You’ll need to remove any areas of the underside that are raised, checking your progress as you do, so as not to remove too much material, then finish with a Barrette needle file to get into the areas the grinding/cut off disc won’t reach, like around the stems. The grinding disc will do most of the bulk removal, using only a file will take a lot longer.
