French President Emmanuel Macron is continuing consultations on appointing a prime minister on Tuesday after ruling out a government led by leftist candidate Lucie Castets in favor of a possible centrist coalition. Macron began a series of meetings on Friday to sound out party chiefs on a compromise to try to end weeks of uncertainty following his decision to call snap elections that left no group with a majority in the National Assembly.
