Some people thought that a change in guard at Israel will improve the present state of conflict beween the Zionist state and Palestine. But the Israeli air strikes of yesterday (16 Jun 2021), the first on Gaza since a shaky ceasefire with Hamas, shows that the new prime minister, Naftali Bennett, is at least as hostile to the idea of a Palestinian state as Mr. Netanyahu.

It needs to be realised that regardless of the shape of the government in Israel, it will not alter its occupationist and colonialist position.
