A new section of the Transparency in Coverage Final Rules began taking effect on January 1, 2023. The Rules were passed back in October 2020, but with staggered implementation. Overall, they require insurance companies and employer health plans to post in-network and out-of-network rates they negotiate with providers and they require online price transparency tools on cost-sharing information. We'll review what's new in 2023.
