If you did the default installation on SCCM 2012 R2 then your clients will communicate over HTTP with the Management Point. Also all traffic from the distribution point (DP) will be over HTTP. And if you are using Application Catalog site that will also run under HTTP. Within this video I show you guys how to covert over to HTTPS by configuring the client certificate, web server certificate and client certificate for distribution points.
