Founder member of Australia’s ‘Cold Chisel’(The Beatles of Australia; or would that be Midnight Oil? If so, who’s The Rolling Stones? Discuss) plays a rare gig in West London.
Constantly overlooked because of Jimmy Barnes, Ian is a more nuanced singer although as grainy, he shines also with his sturdy guitar playing.
The mainly (was there anyone there that wasn’t?) Australian crowd were well up for it and singing along and bouncing the entire time.
Although not as prolific as Jimmy(Jimmys 20 albums to Ian’s 8) the quality of his song-writing and playing shines through and through the course of the show builds, rises and implodes like goosebumps.
A stellar show by an overlooked artist that needs to be known outside of Australia.
