"Panama is one of the fastest-growing countries in the region," began Panama's President Laurentino Cortizo during the 53rd Annual Washington Conference on the Americas at the Organization of American States. "Registering last year a 10 percent increase in our Gross Domestic Product," continued Cortizo.
The president of Panama discussed how the country remains a leader in connectivity. He stated that the Panama Canal connects more than 180 maritime routes and 1,920 ports. "Panama's experience shows that Democracy—a core pillar of our country—works when it is focused on the benefits of all," concluded Cortizo.
