Secrets About Federal Prison:
Justin Paperni: I don't want to have to ask. Okay. This is Justin Paperni here with my good friend Sam Pampeo. The first video we did together was supposed to be one video, but I talked too much and there's a lot of questions. Sam decided that he was going to insert some of his own questions on top of the USC student questions. We're breaking it up into two videos. Sam, like I say, welcome back, but we're really in the same spot we just stopped the video and recorded a new video.
Sam Pampeo: We took a small break and we're back. I got a fresh cup of coffee and we're ready to roll.
Justin Paperni: All right. Let's go.
Sam Pampeo: Okay, so here we go. Jumping right back in. Do you find or did you find that some men cry from boredom or sad and loneliness?
Secrets About Federal Prison:
Justin Paperni: Yes. There's certainly, prison you can feel very isolated and alone, which is strange because you are around so many men. I wrote a blog in prison about a friend, with whom I worked in the kitchen who would go into the bathroom stall in the evenings and cry and spend a lot of time alone. His parents would not bring his two daughters to visit. That was just devastating for him. Yes, despite being around a lot of people it's very easy to feel alone and isolated. Absolutely.
Sam Pampeo: Yeah, I can see that happening. How afraid were you, if at all, the first day or were you afraid that something might happen to you?
Justin Paperni: I wasn't afraid that something would happen to me the first day in prison. I was afraid that the time would feel like a million years. You hear 18 months, it feels like a life sentence. I was afraid that every day would feel like an eternity. I did a pretty good job of keeping my mouth shut, doing a lot of listening, not a lot of talking. I was fortunate to meet Michael Santos, my good friend Andrew Alcheck, God rest his soul. I wasn't worried about being beat up or anything. I was more worried like the time would feel like an eternity.
