As Amazon prepares to enter into the growing world of broadband internet providers, it unveiled its plans for a satellite processing facility at NASA's Kennedy Space Center.

Known by the code name "Project Comet" during development, the 100,000-square-foot site will be where where Amazon's Project Kuiper satellites are processed and encapsulated into payload fairings in preparation for launch on ULA's Vulcan Centaur rocket and Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket.

The facility is located at the Launch and Landing Facility managed by Space Florida. The former Shuttle Landing Facility was leased to them by KSC to assist with economic development.
