This sweet, tangy, tender, charry, salty and toasty FILIPINO STYLE OVEN-BAKED SPARE RIBS is a no-fail easy to cook dish that is always a huge crowd pleaser! I made this last Christmas eve and it disappears in minutes!! It is ideal for potlucks, gatherings, feasts or just simply because you're craving for something extra special.. then this is your recipe my friend, enjoy!
INGREDIENTS:
2kg. spare ribs
lemon
(meat rub)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp chilli powder (optional)
2 tsp paprika
1 and 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp oregano powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp black pepper powder
(BBQ sauce)
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup banana ketchup
1tbsp. minced garlic
1/4 tsp black pepper powder
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp oil mix and cook in the microwave for 3 minutes
***suggestion. you can double this BBQ sauce recipe if you want your spare ribs to be more saucy and juicy.. HIGHLY recommend :) enjoy!
pre-heat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit
wash and prep the meat, remove the membrane part of the spare ribs
cut the ribs as you prefer
add lemon juice or extract
rub the spare ribs with MEAT RUB mixture
place it in a baking tray with foil
cover and seal the baking tray with foil
bake @ 300 degrees for 2 hours
remove the excess juice or oil
baste with BBQ sauce
broil for 5 mins and do the same thing on the other side of the rib.
