I'm using 2x6s to frame in my post-and-beam shop, and while it's easier to use big logs to saw boards in bulk, I'm using what I have on hand: small and medium white pines. I can efficiently mill three 2x6 boards from each log. With spring ending and summer nearly here, I'm finding myself short on lumber to get my framing up, so that's one reason I'm in haste to get these 2x6s cut, stacked, dried, and up!
