Linguistics is the scientific study of language. It is divided into six main branches: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. This video will explore each of these branches in detail, discussing their characteristics and how they contribute to our understanding of language today. We'll learn about what linguists do, and how their work can help us to better understand language. You'll have a better understanding of how linguistics works and how linguists use a set of criteria to approach linguistic phenomena in their studies.
