How to hold a pencil, pen and brush when drawing is a simple tutorial showing the different grips I use in order to draw with more control or less! The video shows and discusses where I hold pencils, pens, brushes and brush pens and WHY I do this - what different results do they give me?
How to hold a pencil is a good basic skill to think about but I also cover how to grip a pen, how to hold a brush pen and my brush grip when painting. I also talk about resting part of your hand on the paper and how that can affect your drawing and increase painting control as well.
I am right-handed so apologies to all the left-handed people out there - please let me know if you try any of these techniques and how you get on with them!
