In this episode I tackle the spring plate bushings in my 1971 Super Beetle. It's a whole lot easier to change them while the body os off the pan. In order to change the bushings you need to unbolt the spring plate from the rest of the rear suspension, remove the cover from the torsion bar housing and the carefully unload the tension on the spring plate by carefully knocking it off the lip of the housing. It's not overly complicated, but you do need some patience and ensure you do things safely.
If you want to lower the rear end of your BUG most of this video will apply, but you will need to find other resources online to figure out how many splines you need move.
