Propagation of a higher-order (N=3) soliton in presence of third order dispersion. The TOD breaks the periodic balance between the linear and nonlinear effects and at the point of maximum compression, the pulse splits into a fundamental soliton and some radiating energy.
Numerical simulations carried out by Pr. Christophe FINOT are based on the split-step Fourier method.
