Sarmat can carry warheads up to 10 tons of total weight. It can also carry 10 multiple re-entry vehicles with the independent target (MIRV) or 16 smaller MIRV or up to 34 Avangard hypersonic boost-glide vehicles. With the MIRV vehicles, the weapon can completely destroy three US states.
