This all happened by accident. I never intended for things to turn out this way. It all just sort of, happened.
I've always been riding bicycles. When I was a child, it was a way for me to be free and independant. When I was in university, it was a cheap and efficient way for me to get around.
My friends and I would get into various adventures during the Summer months. One of these adventures involved towing each other in a bike wagon we bought on sale at the hardware store. Nobody was ever injured during these activities, despite us exceeding the recommended carrying capacity by at least 25kg.
When the owner of the wagon moved to the Netherlands, he gave that wagon to me. And soon after, another local percussionist purchased a small bass drum. When I saw it, the seed was planted. I knew that I would be able to transport a small drum set in the wagon.
At first it was just a simple set up. A high hat, a snare drum, and a bass drum. I would perform on the street on the weekends. People responded. They loved it. I added a cymbal. And another. I realised I had more room in the wagon and bought a tom-tom and floor tom.
All of a sudden, I was transporting a full drum set on my bicycle. And it's easy.
