The contest will be held in two parts across four rounds. The Song Contest and Joik Contest will each be formed of two rounds. In the first round, all six participants will perform with two going through to the Gold Final. In the Gold Final voting will open again and the winner will be chosen.
The qualifiers and winners will be determined by 50% public vote and 50% jury voting. You can vote regardless of your location via the NRK website up to 3 times in each round.

Máhtte Ánte J. Sara is returning to the joik contest as the defending champion in the contest. While Jörgen Stenberg also returns as the winner of the joik contest in 2014.
