Puto with Dulce de Leche dip
Puto is a steamed rice cake and it is made of rice flour but you can use all purpose flour. It is light and slightly sweet; You can pair puto with savory dishes like dinuguan or sweet dip like dulce de leche. You can buy puto everywhere in Philippines but this is more popular in holiday seasons like Christmas, New Year, All Saints day, All Souls day and Holy week.
ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tbsp baking powder
1 cup white sugar
2 cups water
1/2 cup milk powder(more if preferred)
1/4 cup cooking oil
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla essence
Toppings:
30 salted eggs(slices)
30 cheese(slices)
Dip:
1 can dulce de leche(more if preferred)
