“I knew that I was coming to Hong Kong for work, so I went back home to visit my mom (in Malaysia). Of course I have to visit her when I am working in Southeast Asia. If not, I guess she would kill me. (strangling gesture) So I went back home and didn't see anyone else. I flew from London to Singapore, then Ipoh, going home right away. I didn’t go out, I was there only to visit my mom. Then, I went to visit my father’s grave.”

“We Asians, Chinese, have never been nominated for lead actress. We have a lot of great movies, a lot of great actors, female or male, but why would our films be nominated while actors do not have the opportunity? We’re lucky to be nominated this time. STORYLINE:

Oscar-winning actor Michelle Yeoh joined Carina Lau and Karen Mok in Hong Kong for Cartier’s Beautés du Monde jewelry exhibition on Thursday (13 April 2023).

Yeoh arrived at the event while wearing an elegant black dress with a green, dazzling necklace. Speaking of her historic Oscar win, Yeoh said her award-winning movie “Everything Everywhere All at Once" belongs to the public.

According to local media reports, Yeoh will be a presenter at the Hong Kong Film Awards on Sunday.

Actor Carina Lau, wife of Yeoh’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” co-star Tony Leung, also attended the event.
