STORYLINE:
The International Olympic Committee opens a momentous meeting on Monday.
It will designate the host city of the 2008 Summer Games and elect a successor to president Juan Antonio Samaranch, who is stepping down after 21 years in charge.
The race for the I-O-C presidency entered its final stages with all the candidates having now gathered in Moscow.
Jacques Rogge from Belgium, Kim Un-yong of South Korea and Pal Schmidt of Hungary all arrived on Sunday.
Dick Pound of Canada, and the U-S contender, Anita DeFrantz are already in the Russian capital.
