This 2017 Clinical Research Forum Top Ten Clinical Research Achievement Award-winning study, led by Dr. Sekar Kathiresan of Massachusetts General Hospital, is the first to use large data sets to discriminate the effects of genes and lifestyle in heart disease. The researchers found that genes can double the risk of heart disease, but a good lifestyle cuts that risk in half.
