Testicular Sperm Aspiration (TESA) is performed by inserting a needle into the testis to aspirate fluid and tissue. The aspirated tissue is then processed in the embryology laboratory.

Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (PESA) does not require a surgical incision. A needle is passed directly to the head of the epididymis to aspirate fluid. The sperm cells are retrieved from the fluid and embryologist prepares them for ICSI.
