On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at 11:00am ET, Congressman Jim Himes (CT-04), Chairman of the U.S. House Select Committee on Economic Disparity and Fairness in Growth, held a hybrid hearing titled “Growing our Economy by Investing in Families: How Supporting Family Caregiving Expands Economic Opportunity and Benefits All Americans,” to examine the link between federal investments in affordable family care and inclusive economic growth. In the wake of the House passage of the Build Back Better Act and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Select Committee members also discussed the impact of family care access and affordability in relation to America’s economic stability and labor force.
