A U.S. judge, originally appointed by former president Donald Trump, has approved his request to appoint a special master to review documents seized by the FBI from his Mar-a-Lago estate last month, effectively stalling the Justice Department's criminal investigation into the highly classified documents at his resort.
The move still allows for a national security review to continue, but the judge's ruling comes despite objections from the Justice Department.
