Actor Johnny Depp took the stand Wednesday, April 20 in his defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard, whom he says falsely accused him of domestic abuse. Depp is seeking $50 million in damages from Heard for alleged defamation as a result of her 2018 op-ed published in The Washington Post, which Depp says depicts him as an abuser. The op-ed did not mention Depp by name.

The trial began more than a week ago in Fairfax, Virginia. This is the second day Depp is taking the stand.

Johnny Depp detailed the moment he discovered "human fecal matter" on his bed following an argument with Amber Heard during her birthday party. After deciding he wanted to end their relationship, Depp thought that retrieving his belongings while Heard was at Coachella was a good idea. His security guard, Sean Bett, told him it wasn't a good time and afterwards showed him the "grotesque" photographs of fecal matter on his bed.

Depp believes Heard defecated on his bed although she claimed her dogs were responsible. He said "It was so outside, it was so bizarre and so grotesque that I could only laugh."
