The United Nations calls the imprisonment of renowned Guatemalan investigative journalist Jose Ruben Zamora "arbitrary" and a violation of international law. Zamora has been behind bars in Guatemala for 708 days. He was sentenced last year to six years in prison for money laundering, but human rights groups say this is political persecution and undermines democracy. Zamora, the founder of an independent investigative newspaper, oversaw 100 investigations into corruption in Guatemala before his arrest. This work is believed to have led to the 67-year-old being imprisoned.
His son, Jose Carlos Zamora, who is fighting for his father's freedom, joins "NewsNation Prime."
