History isn’t exactly kind to fads. Hindsight is 20/20, and most people’s reaction to hearing about mullets or hackie sacs is, yeah, those obviously weren’t going to be popular for very long. But it’s hard to know what is a fad and what’s going to stick in the cultural zeitgeist. After all, no one plays with cabbage patch kids anymore but Legos are as popular as ever. Some people even claimed the iPhone was a fad when it was first released. We've all been swept up in fads, be it Pokemon in the 90s or mood rings in the 60s. No one is immune. Especially the lucky ones of the 1970s. I’m Nostalgic Nick for Doyouremember, and today we’re going to delve into some of the faddiest fads of the 70s. While they may have been short lived, they captured the imagination of the country for a short while, and today is the time to have a toast for the Fads.
