Africa’s population will increase by 12.5 percent to reach 1.6 billion by 2030. To support this massive population growth and deal with pandemics, such as the recent COVID-19 and Ebola outbreaks, billions are needed to be invested to develop sustainable Healthcare Infrastructure.
ABiQ estimates that, over the next decade, Africa will require more than 2,300 new general hospitals to cope with population growth and 67,000 newly trained physicians to staff them. The capital required for the hospitals will exceed $115 billion!
ABiQ hosted a free webinar on 'Developing Sustainable Healthcare Infrastructure in Africa' on 27 October, 2 PM UAE time, to discuss the needs and challenges faced by the healthcare sector in Africa.
