Off of a dump and chase, the Kraken look to gain possession in the corners. If successful, the players are taught to look for one of two options.
In the offensive zone, the first option is a low triangle play among the three forwards. The forward (F1) winning puck possession in the corner is presented with the option to pass another forward at or below the goal line (F2) while the the third forward (F3) moves into the slot looking for a high danger wrist shot or one timer.
The second is a low-to-high play, where the forward (F1) moves it back to the point defender on the same wall (D1) and then that defender looks for the point shot or moves it to his partner (D2) for a point shot. The Kraken forwards set up a single or double screen in front and turn to hunt for rebonds after the point shot is away.
In this clip, the Kraken work a low triangle. Eventually, Joonas Donskoi (SEA72) sees 4 Hurricanes defenders collapsed low, taking away the triangle options. So he defaults to the core low-to-high concept and moves to the boards to cycle the puck high for a point shot by Mark Giordano (SEA5).
