Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday attended a welcome ceremony held by his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
The two leaders are scheduled to hold formal talks after the ceremony.
At the invitation of Putin, Xi arrived in Moscow on Monday afternoon for a three-day state visit to Russia.
Upon his arrival, Xi met with Putin at the Kremlin and exchanged views with the Russian leader on bilateral ties and the Ukraine crisis.
Xi also met with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on Tuesday ahead of the welcome ceremony, and called for continuous regular meetings between Chinese premier and Russian prime minister.
