The 2025 Zeekr X is an all-new fully electric small SUV from a Chinese marque that's all-new to Australia. That said, Zeekr is part of Geely, which also owns Volvo, Smart, Polestar and Lotus, among other car brands, so it's lineage is not completely unknown. Either way, Zeekr is one of 10 new Chinese players that are looking to make a big splash Down Under.
Due locally in the fourth quarter of 2024, the X will be Zeekr Australia's first model. It's mechanically related to the recently launched Volvo EX30 and soon-to-arrive Smart #1 EVs, meaning 200kW/343Nm single-motor rear-wheel-drive and 315kW/543Nm dual-motor all-wheel-drive versions are available.
In this walk-around preview, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Andrew Chesterton gets up close and personal with the Zeekr X in Hong Kong ahead of its Australian launch later this year. Will the BMW iX1 rival be worth waiting for? Watch this video to find out.
