Professor Sagan takes us on a flavor voyage. Proving he can make ANYTHING interesting.
SCRIPT-
Greetings Fellow Star Travellers,
When you think of wisdom, what do you think of? The writings of Aristotle perhaps, Newton contemplating the pull of celestial bodies, Tesla's studies into radio and telephony. Maybe you think of me. What about fried slices of potato, crispy and covered in salt.
I speak of course of the Wise branded potato chips. For years I have seen its blue/green bags with all-seeing eyes staring at me from the shelves of my local tedeschi's. Do they live up to the promises of all Wise creatures that came before it in the impressive pantheon of human trailblazers? Let's see.
(open chips)
In no way has the foil bag been compromised as immediately my nose comes alive with the smell of root vegetable. The slices are largely-even speaking to some sort of strict albeit arbitrary quality control.
Yet, what is a potato chip if not a device for flavor delivery?
(bite)
The salt rises and falls in briny waves slowly giving way to the sweet dried flesh of the potato. The starches are content to reduce to sweetness on the tongue. The satisfying crunch of the chip is compromised by the thinness of the slice. One's tongue almost figuratively begs for a greater challenge but the chip melts away and begins its own voyage into the gastro-intestinal system.
On a scale of 1 to Billions I give Wise potato chips a very solid 375,400,246 million. Until we meet again, I'm Carl Sagan
