2. Extensive surgery
Surgery for cancer aims to eradicate all cancer from the body. The surgeon does this by removing cancer and some surrounding healthy tissue using cutting tools. Additionally, the surgeon might remove some local lymph nodes. Examining the lymph nodes for the presence of cancer cells.
