In this video let us see how to make Spicy and tasty Kadale KAlu Usli. Kadle usli is a tasty and healthy side dish prepared using black chickpeas. This is a typical Bengaluru and Mysore style spicy kadle usli. Kadale kaalu is known to be the favorite of Lord Ganesha. Usli made with black channa is the one which gives you that temple taste! This is the recipe from southern parts of India. It is prepared as either evening snack or as an accompaniment with saaru/rasam or made during functions or festivals to share with the home coming guests. On the day of Ganesha chaturthi and when we perform the ritual of “tottilu (cradle) shastra” for the new born baby, on both the occasions we compulsorily make this chickpeas usli/salad and distribute among the guests. It tastes really good and gives us the nutritional proteins.
INGREDIENTS:
1. Soaked Black Chickpea or Bengal Gram - 200gm
2. Chopped Green chilly - 4
3. Curry Leaves
4. Grated Coconut - 1/2
5. Coriander Leaves
6. Mustard Seeds - 1 teaspoon
7. Sunflower Oil - 2 Tbsp
8. Rock Salt - as per taste
9. Water - 2 glasses
Note: Soak Black Chickpea in water
for 8-10 hours before Cooking.
