Triniboi Joocie, champion of this year’s Soca Road March UK, releases the official video to his winning anthem ‘Mawd’.
The only artist in the Soca Road March UK’s four-year history to win the coveted title twice, AND in two successive years in a row, the born and raised Port of Spain soca star triumphed with the undeniably infectious hit ‘Mawd’.
Henrys House Films’ and directors Fli5star and Hakeem Boakye translate ‘Mawd’ from the dance to screen; filming Triniboi Joocie disturbing the peace in the most unlikely spots from a chip shop to a hair salon, showing there are no limitations to spreading ‘Mawd’ and getting caught in the hype to wile out, push back (push back, push back!) and jump up (jump up, jump up!)….with even London’s Mayor playing a cameo and getting ‘Mawd’!

‘Mawd’ by Triniboi Joocie will be officially released in December 2015.
Official Press Release
A young man was spotted flailing his arms wildly, screeching at the top of his lungs, disrupting the peace in the Notting Hill area. After calls from local residents a chase was ensued by local police units lasting about 6 hours across West London. Statues have been defaced and garden fences flattened.
The suspect was spotted drinking from a bottle of 1919 Angostura at 11am on Monday morning and pressing himself against a young British female, whilst assaulting members of public with talcum powder.
The suspect resisted arrest. It was later discovered that he goes by the name of Triniboi Joocie. His lawyer is putting a case in for diminished responsibility "Zhartiness" in response to the charges of public indecency. The accused released a statement pleading guilty. Claiming to be MAWD!
Award winning UK soca artist Triniboi Joocie returns again with a bigger hit, owning and dismantling the streets and all speaker boxes this carnival season with an infectious, catchy Power offering. MAWD is a statement of responsibility during our annual celebration of emancipation. In a world where the oppressed have little escape, Joocie encourages resistance to the status quo, release for the entrapped and wildness for the zharty.
