When we think about joint preservation, we need to think about not just what has brought the patient specifically to see me, which might be a very specific cartilage injury or pain related to a very specific problem within their joint, but also why that occurred. And very often, when we think about joint preservation, we're dealing with a specific issue which is causing the pain, but also an underlying cause, which will not be addressed by only addressing the symptom. So with joint preservation, it's a way of thinking about the complex interactions between underlying cause and symptoms and restoring patients of all ages to a very healthy biomechanical joint, which in turn allows them to be as active as they'd like to be again.
