Find out what happens to your RRSP when you retire and when you turn age 71.

- Must convert to RRIF by Dec 31st of the calendar year in which you turn 71. RRSP portfolio could stay as is – no mandatory changes to portfolio holdings.
- Must start making withdrawals by Dec 31 of the calendar year in which you turn age 72.
