Belgium is easily one of the weirdest countries in Europe to exist. It's a country that's ethnically, culturally, and linguistically polarized between French, Dutch and Germans, has no real historical identity beyond the past 200 years, got obliterated in both World War I AND World War II, and yet SOMEHOW still exists.
