In this video, we tested Whisper of the Worm against Oryx, and it performed incredibly well, dealing a significant amount of damage.
And after the nerfs to linear fusion rifles and buffs to snipers, I believe Whisper of the Worm can easily be the best option for boss encounters that require sustained damage and long DPS phases, such as Oryx. It might even outperform other options like bait and switch or Sleeper Simulant.
It is possible to one-phase certain bosses using Whisper of the Worm, but you need to have a 15% damage buff for the overall DPS. The best class for this task is Hunter, as it provides a significant damage boost for the entire team.
