Hello Everyone!
Check out our latest video on Rhinoscopy and how we used this method to remove pesky grass seeds from one of our lovely patients, Puzzle.
Rhinoscopy is a diagnostic procedure that allows us to examine the nasal cavity for potential problems such as irritation, inflammation, cancer, lacerations, bleeding, or foreign bodies such as plant debris.
This procedure requires mild to moderate anaesthesia.
Puzzle was suffering from irritation and sneezing caused by grass seed.
Grass seeds are small, pointed seeds that are attached to the tops of long grass stalks., you may have noticed them whilst enjoying long walks with your pooches.
Grass seeds have extremely sharp ends, and become trapped in your dog’s fur and burrow down and pierce their skin. These naughty seeds can also get stuck in your dog’s paws, ears, eyes, and nose, which can be painful for your dog.
Take a look at how Rhinoscopy is performed, enjoy!
