Stop Lane Camping! Left Lane is for Passing! (It's actually a law 🤔😲) Your in the wrong lane!
To everyone who will get mad about this, the reality is forcing faster moving traffic to pass on the right creates a more dangerous situation than the mild speeding. You can see in the vide, this person, is by no means FLYING down the road. To your point of "Well I'm going the speed limit so they can go around me!" and "They shouldn't be speeding, its their fault!" - OK maybe in a perfect world where NO ONE speeds then this would apply. We do not live in a perfect world. We live in a flawed world with flawed people. People are GOING TO SPEED. No matter how much you piss and moan about it. They will speed. The way to make the roads the SAFEST they can be, in the REAL world (not your "no one speeds" fantasy land), is by having a lane dedicated to passing. This is why the law exists. It explicitly says;
"On multi-lane streets, roads and highways, section 316.081(3), Florida Statutes, requires that drivers drive in the right-hand lanes to prevent impeding the flow of traffic resulting in dangerous driving situations."
And continues on to say;
"Drivers must not continue to drive a vehicle in the far left lane when being overtaken by a faster moving vehicle, unless the driver is preparing for a left-hand turn at an intersection."
The driver handbook says;
"If the road has four or more lanes with two-way traffic, drive in the right lanes except when overtaking and passing." (for those of you confused, a 4 lane roadway, legally speaking, has 2 lanes of travel in each direction, so a 2 lane road for the direction you are traveling specifically)
I hope this clears up some of the left lane nonsense I see everyday - If you are a left lane camper - GTFOver! You do not belong there.
P.S. None of what I am saying is supposed to exhonerate the people driving like morons and the motorcycles doing 150mph. They are doing their own bad thing, you however are not the speed limit police. Forcing the irresponsible drivers to move over and pass on the right or potentially weave traffic etc is creating an even more dangerous roadway, than the speeder is already, for everyone around. Also this only really applies to FLORIDA - I do not know the laws in other states so if you do not live in Florida and think "HE IS WRONG!", well I may be for your state.
