This is the moment a 15-year-old girl was chased by a gang of baseball bat wielding thugs before she outwitted them by hiding behind a wall.

Shocking footage shows the terrified schoolgirl fleeing from the yobs and jumping over a garden wall where she cowers for safety.

The 50-second clip released by police shows a group of around eight hooded men then hunting the area in a bid to find the youngster.

She can seen finally sneaking away once the coast is clear after the thugs gave up their search on Aaron Manby Court in Tipton, West Mids.

However, the unidentified victim was later attacked at around 9.30pm on February 12 and taken to hospital with serious injuries. The violent gang is reported to be aged in their 20s and were seen driving a silver VW Golf in the Tipton area.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Work has been on-going to trace the offenders who are reportedly aged in their 20s.

"Officers believe it is likely they live in the Tipton area and were driving a silver colour VW Golf on the day of the attack.

"At the time a lot of local people tweeted and shared information about the attack on social media.

"We are appealing for anyone with information or who witnessed what happened to get in touch with police on 101.

"To remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
