Pro-Palestine protesters in London at the SOAS Liberated Zone for Gaza were violently attacked and arrested by police early on Tuesday.
Eyewitnesses said the encampment had faced harassment from two individuals identifying as Zionists, who were previously involved in the disruption of other pro-Palestine events. The individuals reportedly boasted about having served in Gaza as part of the Israeli military.
When police arrived, they allowed the two individuals to leave before proceeding to break into the encampment. Seven members of the encampment were arrested, with some being injured in the process. The arrested individuals were later released, according to a social media post by the SOAS Liberated Zone for Gaza.
The SOAS Liberated Zone for Gaza has been used to stage pro-Palestine protests and events for over two months, with student protesters demanding the university to cut ties with Israeli institutions involved in the war on Gaza.
