The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been actively engaged in locating and destroying Hamas tunnels in Gaza. These tunnels are used for smuggling and military purposes, often extending into the Gaza-Egypt border area, particularly in Rafah. The IDF has found at least 25 tunnels along the Egypt border and recovered weapons and ammunition from them. Combat engineers are carefully sweeping through these areas, including the Philadelphi Corridor, to ensure all tunnels are identified and neutralized. Despite the intensive stage of the offensive nearing its end in Rafah, the IDF continues efforts to locate attack tunnels that could approach Israel.
