When we think about axis' jets, the first nation that comes to our mind is Germany with its Me-262 and then, Japan who had mostly imported the technologies of the Third Reich. However, this second place should be occupied by the nation that is not thought of at all. Italy, indeed, being the second nation to have flown a jet plane (before the United Kingdom). It developed its own jet engine technology development program without having to copy or even draw inspiration from its European ally. A program that could not succeed because the war had ended earlier for the kingdom and this by very little because an aircraft with this mode of propulsion was almost complete at the time of the capitulation. Designed by the originator of jet engines in Italy, Secondo Campini, it is the Caproni Ca.183bis.
