The King Parrot is native to the East Coast of Australia where it inhabits rainforest and cool eucalyptus forests, as well as occasionally, peoples back yards!
Their range extends from Southern Victoria to Cooktown in North Queensland, with a further two species of King Parrot being found in Papua New Guinea and nearby islands
The King Parrot, while not endangered, is dependant on tall deep follows for breeding, but has otherwise habituated to living along side humans in many places
