OK , so the title of the song does not literally mean Make us proud among the people , it means "raise our head among the people" and subsequently all vary the same based on the conjugation of the verb .It's an Arabic metaphor for making one proud , a person whose head is high is a proud person , the issue here lied in the verb , which cannot be translated except as raise , and then it would make no sense to English speakers ( raise a head ) . So I went with the metaphorical meaning , so that it's only comprehensible to all .
